The Christmas Magic That Brings Me Joy
Ho Ho! I’m Suchita – your Christmas-loving elf (or Santa’s helper, if that sounds better)! There’s just something about Christmas that fills me with so much joy. Funny thing is, I’m not Christian, and I didn’t grow up surrounded by Christmas traditions. But, somehow, this season has always had a special place in my heart. Honestly, I think I love it even more than Diwali or Holi!
Why Christmas Feels Extra Special
Maybe it’s the twinkling lights, the cozy vibes, or just the simple joy of it all. Even though Mumbai doesn’t get the chilly winter breeze or snow to really feel like a “winter wonderland,” there’s still a kind of magic in the air. The streets lit up with vibrant lights, shops overflowing with festive decorations—it’s like everything is just a little more special.
And then, of course, there’s the Christmas tree. I’m obsessed with how you can decorate it in so many ways. Whether it’s quirky ornaments that hold memories or just a fun little Hedwig plushie (yep, Harry Potter fan here!), the tree feels like it’s telling your own personal Christmas story.
From One Tree to Two: A Christmas Tradition Grows
It all started five years ago with just a tiny tree, something simple to spread a little Christmas cheer. But last year, I decided it was time to go big—so I got a huge tree and an even bigger box of ornaments. The more decorations, the merrier, right? Honestly, decorating the tree has become one of my favorite parts of the season, and I get so excited every year to see how it turns out!
Snuggle Season & Cozy Vibes
When it comes to the holidays, I’m all about snuggling up with a warm drink and watching Christmas movies. And that’s why we’ve come up with a theme I’m calling Snuggle Season. Think: cozy blankets, Christmas lights, popcorn, a few treats, and a classic holiday movie marathon. It’s all about embracing those little moments of warmth and comfort that make Christmas feel so magical.
Making the Most of Christmas
For me, Christmas isn’t about sticking to certain traditions—it’s about creating your own magic. Whether it’s decking out your home, dressing up for a night out, playing Secret Santa, or just watching movies in your pyjamas, it’s those simple moments that really make the season feel special.
